Dermal Fillers Q & A
What are Injectables and Fillers?
While both neurotoxin injectables and dermal fillers are effective at treating fine lines and wrinkles, they are made of different ingredients and treat the signs of aging through different processes.
Who performs the injections?
At Skin Deep Laser MD, we feel that only physicians with advanced training should inject neurotoxins and dermal fillers into a person’s face. Our owner and supervising physician, Dr. Riehm is the only provider of Skin Deep performing injection treatments.
Are Injectables and Dermal Fillers Safe?
While minor bruising, swelling, and redness can occur at injection sites, both neurotoxin injectables and dermal fillers have proven safety profiles. You may be given an allergy test prior to treatment to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.
The visibility and longevity of results depend on each individual condition, and a customized treatment plan will be created for you by Dr. Riehm.

Derived from the botulinum toxin, neurotoxin injectables are administered directly into the muscles of treated areas with a fine needle. The neurotoxin blocks nerve signals from reaching underlying facial muscles, temporarily relaxing them. This smoothes out the skin and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
At Skin Deep Laser MD, we currently offer two neurotoxin injectables: BOTOX® and Xeomin®.
Types of Fillers we Offer:
Dermal Fillers
Injected directly underneath the skin, dermal fillers are mostly made from hyaluronic acid (HA) or other substances that are found naturally in the body. Dermal fillers provide instant volume and fullness underneath the skin, temporarily erasing wrinkles, lines, and folds.
Dr. Riehm has several dermal filler options available to help with volume loss or contouring your profile. Schedule a consultation with her to find out which filler is best for you and your situation. Click here to schedule an appointment today.
